This website acts as the Public Engagement Portal to help connect the public with the South Bend Brownfield Coalition's efforts. From late 2014 through 2017 we will efficiently identify, prioritize, plan and assess brownfield conditions throughout St. Joseph County, IN.

Community Engagement Meeting (April 2, 2015)

April 2, 2015 at St. Joseph County Public Library in downtown South Bend – Community Engagement Meeting #1 as the Technical Project Team of Chris Dressel (South Bend), Ryan Eckdale Dudley (Symbiont),  Chris Harrell (Lazarus Group LLC), and Nivas Vijay (Heartland Environmental) provide a project overview, innovations, and expected outcomes.  Key to the discussion, the Technical Project Team (TPT) outlined the data driven process planned for the project: deep data mining of public records, digitizing reports and files, creating an accessible library of past and future reports. The TPT outlined the goals behind data mining, compilation, and creating a brownfield condition inventory in the St. Joseph County community.  This process drive the inventory and prioritization process to most effectively and efficiently use the limited funds at hand.
